
Hi there!
My name is Andreas Klöckner. I am a postdoc at the Courant Institute of Mathematical Sciences at NYU. I am working with Leslie Greengard on various problems in computational electromagnetics.
If you would like to come see me in person, I am in room 1105A of Warren Weaver Hall. My official office hours are Mondays and Wednesdays from 4pm to 5pm. Feel free to send me email (below) or see if I'm around at other times.
Prior to being at Courant, I spent a really enjoyable five years getting my PhD at the Division of Applied Mathematics at Brown University. I worked with Jan Hesthaven on a variety of issues involving linear and nonlinear hyperbolic PDEs and discontinuous Galerkin finite element method. If that sounds as interesting to you as it does to me, feel free to take a look at my work.
I am interested in high-order numerical methods for Partial Differential Equations, in particular for hyperbolic problems. I also care about parallel computing and the software engineering needed to build useful, robust simulation codes.
I am originally from Germany, where I obtained my Diplom degree from the University of Karlsruhe.
